लोहारा जंगल वाचवा Save Lohara forest

Lohara forest, a dense forest rich in all kind of flora and fauna and important due to its high density of teak and bamboo plants, is struggling for its existence. The forest is a corridor for tigers to move from Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) to the forest of Junona. Deforestation of Lohara forest will cut down the migration of animals from Tadoba forest to other side thereby restricting their natural movements. Moreover the actual coalmine project proposed for Lohara in the buffer zone of tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve may only be worth a few hundred crore rupees. But the environemtnal value of the project is a breathtaking Rs. 2.12 lakh crore. This is becuase the project is set to cut about 13.50 lakh trees on the 1598 hectare forest area to be aquisited by mine. This massive deforestation around already polluted Chandrapur town will increase the temperature of the city. The climate of Chandrapur is already at its worst with enormous parameters of RSPM in its atmosphere. Lohara forest is the only green belt left around Chandrapur. All other sides of this industrially exploited town are surrounded by open caste coal mines, metal processing units, cement companies, thermal power station and other miscellaneous units like that of sponge iron. Despite all these deadly facts Government is inclined to clear the way of Adani Group to establish the mine as evident by reluctant policy and stand of all the political parties and higher authorities of the concerned departments. I appeal to all the nature lovers of Maharashtra and India to stand by this cause to resist the exploitation of this rich natural heritage. If we need a clean healthy atmosphere for future, we must stand up before its too late. Lets not forget that once the mine is established, Lohare jungle will only be a hostory. Let us save the environement fo rout future generation. Hope for a solution through your support.
